Thermal Imaging using Infrared Thermography

Thermal Imaging

At Mainphase, as Electrical Contractors and Service Providers for over 20 years, we understand the value of a proactive approach toward the maintenance of electrical systems. Using digital Thermal Imaging technology (also known as Infrared Thermography), we have helped to pioneer & develop an industry leading process for preventative maintenance by determining harmful faults before they become a costly breakdown for any electrical reticulation system.

To the naked eye the first image shows all supply connections to be well within their design parameters, when if fact a poor or loose connection threatens a loss of power to the right hand side supply as shown in the Thermal Imaging Scan.

Preventative Maintenance

The Mainphase preventative maintenance system offers Thermal Imaging (Eletrical/Mechanical Infra-Red "Hot Spot" Detection). This is based on the most modern and up-to-date digital technology for all levels of industry from complex to modern industrial plants to multi-level office accommodation at competitive, realistic prices.

The operational benefits of Thermal Imaging to the consumer are:

  • Increased productivity due to reduced downtime
  • Increase in safety for employers, employees and other personnel
  • Reduced incidences of power/system failures
  • Reduce likelihood of electrical fires
  • Increased awareness of any breaches to Australian Standards

The cost benefits of Thermal Imaging to the consumer are:

  • Reduced costs from unexpected maintenance issues due to emergency breakdowns
  • Reduced costs in insurance premiums

Infrared Electrical Inspection & Hot-Spot Detection

Using thermal imaging detection processes, Mainphase can carry out an infra-red thermal electrical inspection survey of all electrical/mechanical distribution switchboards and other reticulation equipment providing detailed digital photographic results for analytical purposes.

Data is collected under normal load conditions without interruption of costly shutdown to power and collated into concise detailed Fault Analysis reports.

Detailed Fault Reports

The Mainphase detailed Fault Analysis reports show 'how' and 'why' the faults have occurred; recommendations of repair and priority ratings for engineering analysis. The reports are generally supplied in electronic format for expedience to repair but hard copies can be provided by request.

It is important to note that these reports can be tailor made to suit your specific requirements.

Thermal Testing, Detection and Analysis

A well-run system of thermal testing, detection and analysis of your electrical systems is an essential step in an effective preventative maintenance program. It can virtually eliminate unexpected outages and failures, ensuring the smooth operation of your electrical systems.
